The Pride Wide Summit brought advocates, community organisations, business leaders and allies together at ME London to consider visibility, safety, storytelling and action. Olivia Campbell-Cavendish joined the programme and discussed narrative change with Pride Wide co-founder Tris Reid-Smith.
Narrative change does not substitute legal reform. It does, however, influence which facts institutions notice, whose evidence is treated as credible and whether legal developments are understood accurately by the public or weilded against vulnerable communities. The summit’s discussions were followed by Live Pride Wide Open, a national public-space campaign delivered with JCDecaux.
