London Trans+ Pride 2024

Olivia Campbell-Cavendish spoke at London Trans+ Pride 2024, which brought an estimated 60,000 people into central London. The march travelled from Langham Place to Wellington Arch and included speakers from law, culture, healthcare and community organisations.

The address treated public assembly as the most important form of visibility. Marches allow communities to identify common concerns, communicate them collectively and press institutions to account for whether existing rights work in practice. Campbell-Cavendish described Pride as one means of enforcing the rights trans people already hold: the right to dignity, equal treatment and participation in public life.
